"I still have 3 numbers on my phone of 3 of my best friends who all died within the last couple of years. Just can't get around to deleting them." I am the same, I have 2 on mine as well

"I lose my phone at least every year or two so I need to start from scratch all the time! I only add and give the new number to the people I still want to speak to so I'm not usually carrying much dead weight." Apologies for my choice of phrase, I hadn't seen the other comments

"I still have 3 numbers on my phone of 3 of my best friends who all died within the last couple of years. Just can't get around to deleting them." I know what you mean - I have a few friends that I have lost over the years and I will never forget them Then when I am scrolling through my address book looking for someone and I come across their names it brings a tear/smile as I remember all the memories we shared together and they aren't gone

I tend to write all my numbers down on paper now for such eventualities, but when I have a good clear out I sometimes get "This number is no longer recognised", but the person has changed their number.

"I've got names in there I've got no clue who they are, especially the ones "in code"....who the hell was The Wirral Wink?!!" I'm good at writing down numbers on bits of paper and scratching ma head a few weeks later thinking "Who the hell was that"

"Quite often. I do it with messages as well. Sometimes it reminds me to "touch base" with someone and see how they are doing." I'm supposing that your phone book is much fuller than an old fogie like me Meli, but basically what I'm on about is if you've met someone, possibly on holiday in Barcelona about 10 years ago, and said "Yeah, we'll keep in touch" but never do, then when you do ring them they have changed their number anyway
