Do you say Hi, or purposely ignore them?

Chesterfield

I’d say Hi. But then I’ve always ended on something approaching good terms, as far as I remember.

Depends on the ex.

Sometimes say hi, sometimes ignore, sometimes call the police.

I'm on very good terms with my ex, we keep in touch and stuff. She lives in Yorkshire though so I doubt I will see her any time soon

Personally I'd ignore and block if I thought they were a cunt.

Someone I parted on good terms with I'd be happy for them that they were hopefully enjoying themselves and having awesome experiences so probably just ignore them but not block, I wouldn't be messaging them or calling them old pet names like babe or snugglepuss. That shit gets dead n buried when the relationship is over and I think it's highly inappropriate especially if you were once very very close. I think you've separated for a reason and hopefully moved on, to me that's unclear boundaries and almost carrot dangling to what could maybe be again.

In the street? Hmmm. One would get laughed at, the rest I would acknowledge

I’ve not split up on bad terms with any ex so it’s ok, i just tend to feel awkward.

Plus you always see them when you’re looking like a bag of wank! Full up with a cold, having a bad hair day and your tooth veneer has fallen out so you’ve got a mini tooth that is the first thing they see when you smile and they look gorgeous.

Mine asked me out for a drink. Didn't recognise me!!! I bollocked him as he's now married and has a son. I think he's off of here now.

You have such a way with words.

Apart from one, I'm not on bad terms with my exes. They are still friends to varying degrees so I'd respond how I would with any friend.

Under the Duvet

In person I'd probably smile hello and keep walking.

Online I'd ignore, maybe have a quick look to see if their cock has grown any in the intervening years, then blockadoodledoo.

They're an ex for a reason.

Depends on the ex. The one sme on here know then I would always say hello to and would actively seek out if we were at the same place. Theres another I've ignored completely but most fall nearer the first scenario. I'm not one for bitterness

I was gonna tell a story but decided against it.

Depends on the ex and how you left things.

I'd say hello and how are you, always! I'd say that to anyone I know if I saw them tbh, it's good manners. It's sometimes not that simple in real life however. Life moves on, ppl get left behind or feel hard done by and hello is often seen as (or used as) "fuck you" or "look at how happy I am" or "look how great my life is without you". If only life were simple eh....

Travelling

Would greatly depend on how things ended and ways were parted.

Generally though yes. No reason to be rude otherwise. I hate being I polite to random people on the Internet (intentionally) I wouldn't hate even more to be thst way to somebody I know, and especially somebody I was close with.

Though as I say it is greatly dependent on other factors.

I dont have an "ex's" as in husband/boyfriends.

Fab friends who I no longer see? All but one I'd probably acknowledge.

One guy came into where I work a couple of weeks ago. We had a lovely chat

I must be lucky or something..I get on with all my ex's...I still have respect for them all and would go as far as saying I still love them all..I'm not in love with them but if any of them came chapping on my door I'd invite them for a coffee.....

London

I accidentally bumped into my ex once or twice. I just say hi, shake hands and a little polite small talk.

Be friendly and jovial. And then go.

Some people like to see you suffer.

Don't give them the satisfaction.
