Thank you all for you messages and support this week...

Following in the recent footsteps of Taff, Ghengis and Peach (ED) tonight I had to say goodbye to my Westie boy after sharing 17 years and 8 months of his life. .... he didn’t recover from the virus he picked up and yesterday started to decline and today was clearly a poorly little dog

It’s the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make but I put on my big girl pants and stayed with him until he went to sleep...

Oh I'm so sorry, i know that heartbreak - still miss my dogs many years later

One of my cats was knocked down and killed just 3 weeks ago, so am still in the shock of grief x

Sorry for your loss, he done extremely well nearly getting to 18 he must have been a very happy well love boy to get to that age at least he's at peace try to think of happy times and celebrate his life and joy he brought to the family x

I'm so sorry. You gave your dog the best life he could ever have, he had lots of love, food, cuddles, pets, playtime and you. Your dog is probably so thankful they had you until the end. Be heartbroken. It just plain hurts.

I lost my boy on 10/11/11 and still miss him dearly now. He was with me for 15 1/2 years. Went everywhere with me.

I feel your pain, I had to say goodbye to Lola my 16yr old Westie a couple of years ago, the pain is unbearable and one that still hurts today, but you have done that last loving thing you could have done for him.

I have three rescue Westies who are adorable in every way and their cheekiness fills everyone's hearts who meets them...
