Following on from my thread yesterday, it is pretty clear that for many fab singles, the lack of intimacy is a primary aspect that people miss or feel they're lacking.

I originally posted it as a bit of a joke but the idea has been in my head all day, so I thought I'd post a thread to see if any forum folks would go for this.

The idea is that it would be a few folks getting together for a film or two, chats and snuggles in a comfortable environment. Not for sex but close contact. Food, drink, etc, can all be arranged. The emphasis is on scratching the together itch.

Perhaps I'm being daft but it struck me as an idea worth exploring.

Any takers?

I think it's important to remember that who you're cuddling gets something from it too so no, relationship status really isn't an issue.

Isn't that what normal mates are for? I do this with my regular mates already with films and gin under a furry blanket on the sofa nights? Intimacy is something else to me, its gazing into her eyes and aching for her even when you're right in front of each other tangled together.... you cant unsingle yourself unless you're with someone and in love imho....

"I'm just visualising loads of miserable singles giving awkward hugs and pats to ppl they dont really care that much about or truly feel comfy with having in their personal space under a huge blanket like a really awkward non-sexual orgy, and after travelling miles to do so. I dont see how affection can be faked or created in that way? Dont you guys have regular real life friends for genuine cuddles and intimacy when you're single then? Maybe I'm really fortunate in that I do, but it would still never match up to the intimacy of true love. It's almost like you're attempting to deconstruct the magic of being in love and rebuild a cheap non-authentic version. It would devalue the currency of true love when you have it, like wearing a coat indoors kinda thing....

I was just going for the pizza and Prosecco and a bit of company when my OH was away. Oh and because it sounded like fun. I’m not even single so perhaps I don’t qualify

"Following on from my thread yesterday, it is pretty clear that for many fab singles, the lack of intimacy is a primary aspect that people miss or feel they're lacking.

I originally posted it as a bit of a joke but the idea has been in my head all day, so I thought I'd post a thread to see if any forum folks would go for this.

The idea is that it would be a few folks getting together for a film or two, chats and snuggles in a comfortable environment. Not for sex but close contact. Food, drink, etc, can all be arranged. The emphasis is on scratching the together itch.

Perhaps I'm being daft but it struck me as an idea worth exploring.

Any takers?

I prefer a good element of socialising on my meets, quite often have done dinner and have a great chat and laugh while I'm cooking.

Makes for a much more relaxed meet, well it's what I've found and the ladies seem to love having a meal cooked for them for a change

I don't think that is the intention. Just sometimes we can all miss the human touch, and this could be a mutual support group.

It'll never replace true love, obviously, but might be the next best thing for some people for a while

You're not trying to be negative, yet you are...

Thats your feelings on this, plenty of others enjoy the idea and want to take part. It's not about being fake, it's quite the opposite actually.

I don't really see it any different to cuddling after sex with people you have met from here just it removes the requirement of sex in order to receive affection.

The truth is many people don't have friends they can cuddle with. Particularly men with mostly male friends. There's lots of reasons why and it is sad but it is also not uncommon or anything to be embarrassed by.
