Little things

Liverpool

The weather is dreary outside so I went on a bit of a spree in the shops and bought a shit load of candles. I have 10 on the go. My living room looks like a church but smells delightful. Gingerbread, apple, cinnamon and, my favourite, a unicorn candle.

What little things can cheer you up on dreary days x

With you on the candles, lovely Raven.

Nothing else can give as much comfort on a day like today.

I've discovered that B&M's have these crackling wooden wick ones that are great for filling the house with atmosphere and a beautiful smell. I've got two very large sandalwood ones burning at the moment, three wicks each. And at £7.99 they are a quarter of the price of the branded ones...

xx Niki

A heart warming bowl of soup!

Tomato and chorizo with cubes of cheese to pop in and let melt... ah reminds me of living in the Alpes...

That sounds like a brilliant idea. Soft candlelight actually helps me relax and is great for chilling out

Candles are so atmospheric and lovely, I've got a beautiful Linden tree one on the go atm.

I love baking cakes at this time of year. And running an almost too hot bath with a good bath bomb and slowly sinking into it with a book.

That's those northern unicorns that smell like thar. The southern unicorns have a more citrusy undertone.

The eastern unicorns are awsome.

Hiding in the shadows

I have 2 lovely candles, I've just bought from the Poppy table.

Not lit then, I'm saving that til the 11th, but just opening the box has scented the room.

I've had a stressful week... I'm currently looking at lingerie, I think I deserve a little treat to cheer myself up

I've turned the big light off. The room is lit up only by candlelight. The soft lighting and the aromas all around the room. I'm currently very relaxed and happy. New Aladdin film on too. My daughter not best impressed at my singing along though x

We're currently sat in the dark with music on, the tree on, and K has lit a few of her candle collecting. It's super cosy

Just love candles.

I like finding pretty plates and bowls in the charity shops. I don’t have sets as I’m clumsy so instead I have a lovely mismatched collection.
