That’s me. Almost 2 years since I had a sick day from work, that was following surgery. Mind you, it’s hard to cheat when the all-seeing eye is watching over you.

What about you employed people in normal jobs. How long my since your last sickie?

I don't get sick days in my current role.

So if I'm ever ill enough that I can't (get to) work, I don't earn that day

I don't do sick days. I'm self employed, if I don't turn up for work I don't get paid

No, If I’m able to get out of bed with a ‘little sniffle’ then I’m able to get my arse in to work. Too many people exploit the ‘sickie’ culture in the UK. It’s these people that also complain of ‘foreigners’ taking our jobs.

I was off for a month in may after eye surgery. And was off for a week in 2017 after eye surgery that went far smoother than this years surgery. Other than that somewhat cruelly the only time I've been I'll in the last couple of years coincided with annual leave that I already had booked

Same as a mate of mine who worked for the civil service had 2 weeks a year and had to take them.

Dave has not had a sick day since an accident at work 12 years ago - but is having an operation on Saturday that means he'll be off work for 4 weeks (following an 'incident' at work)
