As a youngster I used to travel to cumbria a lot as my dad came from carlisle my dad knew all the local areas penrith one of them everywhere up there seemed quite in those days perhaps has,nt changed much since then how people met one another I,ve no Idea but It was scenic and the people were very pleasant Ideal for some folk not for others.

While there It enriched my life as a lad and I grew up with It Inside my dad had a car and we could get around well three or more in that time morris minor, traveller, vauxhall victor estate,, not forgetting the bedford dormobile slept in that along the front at ayr one night they all broke down occasionally they may have bus tours perhaps to bland but If you like the sea air and perhaps a little sea fishing it could make a nice escape we were lucky because we always stayed at my dads sistera in carlisle no b&bs or hotels to think about, when these kind of posts come up it brings It even more home to me how lucky I was to see them when I did Its over 42 years since I last did to..

Thankyou, I know If I manage to get back to some of those areas It will mean a lot to me they are so out of the way places to get to I can,t Imagine how you would get to them without a car but for me that was part of the charm about them and long may that remain the same for them ..
