Next week the worlds eye will be watching the GRAND NATIONAL ,i'm doing a sweep stake on fab , and already have one full card , the world cannot match this event , however lot's of peeps are against the event , i as others do not want to see the horses and riders hurt , and i can assure you neither do their owners ,so anyone who wants to put their points accross please do so on here , rather than on the sweepstake lists that i shall be updating when final runners and riders are announced , thanks for your support and interest

The course is not as difficult for the horses as it used to be due to fence modifications. Some people will say that its still too dangerous for the horses,others will say that because of the changes the race has been compromised.

I'm of the opinion that it's a great sporting event but not as good as it was due to the changes

The land of grey peas and bacon

Everybody has their views on horseracing and when riders whip the horses. I come from a very horseracing family and I have a rather famous relative in the horseracing game..The GN is a great British event that has been going on for years I think we need to keep British tradtions going as most of them has faded with the way the world is revolving. Most sports that involve horeses are dangerous what about 3 day eventing and point to point.

I do believe that the trainers and jockeys have the best interest of the horses when it comes to the GN..

I think the GN is a bit like marmite.

I think I don't like it but come the Saturday I get caught up in everyone else's excitement and find myself watching it. I do hate it I there is a bad injury though.

75% of Fav's win, 20% of outsiders win ,only 5% of jockeys win a big race ...back E/W (1st,2nd or 3rd placing )on a horse over 8-1 odds , in a 8 and over horse race ..you have a 60% chance of winning or getting your stake back , but the National is a Lottery , lol..

Its simple.... Pray for rain.... look at the stats and you will see in wet years the horses don't die.... they fall and slide.

Worked in racing and I can assure you horses that don't want to race do not make good racehorses, and find alternative careers or end up as glue, or meat. Harsh but true.

the gn is not a lottery

not evry horse can run 4 miles at high

tempo cross out any with stamina probs

if they fell over the jumps or unseated

cross out do they go on the ground;

cross out high odds 60 /1 40/1

some yrs youll be wrong

also cross out old horses and the high wieghts
