Being a fat guy and in my late 40’s, for the first time in my life am going to try to do something about it so with the new gym opening near Elland road it’s time to get fit but I look around and not one is over wight but I’ll keep going .. any one else going?

Go for it.

I've never been over weight but always felt self conscious. But one thing I've noticed about the gym is no one really cares what you look like or what you're doing

That’s a good thing and I’ve got to google some of the machines to use them

Everyone's at the gym for the same reason, to improve themselves in one way or another. Nobody there will (or should) be judging anyone else who's trying to make a change

This!

Ask the gym staff for help if you need it, too.

Just around the corner

I’ve been bigger than I’d like of FB and on over the years, particularly after I got a more office based job. I also hated gyms and exercise for the same reason. But once I got started I found I actually enjoyed it, and most folk are pretty supportive and sociable.

Bugger what anyone else looks like and do what you need to do. No one can knock you for putting in the effort.
