'Block' Button some thoughts ..

Hey folks my train is late so am just having a look around /just flicking through profiles and it occured to me /finding it amsusing that people are threatening the 'wielding' of the 'block' button like it was some form of medieval punishment on some profiles .

Some of the profiles are very serious and actually quite amusing about it .

'if you message us and you have a beard, less than 8 inch, shaved not shaved ,no veris, some veris, born on a Tuesday , bi, smoker, drinker, drug user, live in the mountains, drink heavily, chicken chaser , ask for pictures , etc etc you WILL be blocked! ( cue doom , tension based ,horror movie, scary music!)

Or my favourite ' If you are a timewaster you WILL BE BLOCKED ! ( they tend to emphasise the shouty bit don't they ? I am obviously crapping myself!

DO ME A FAVOUR! emphasising my own shouty bit

Its not as though anyones going to really care is it if they get blocked ? if they are a chancer anyway they are going to expect it to happen as part of being a chancer ?

I suggest .. The only time being blocked is going to bother someone is if you already have a connection with someone and end up falling out over something then being blocked has some kind of impact Like the FB thing all the kids worry about being 'unfriended' etc ..other than that as far as anything to be uspet about ? its like being hit full force on the top of the head with a feather! .. a waste of time as far as any negative or 'hurty' bit is concerned .

Sure of course can see why the B button works to eliminate people who arent up to standard/ miss the strict criteria etc .. when you get a message etc that is common sense to work it out and decide if they are suitable or not .. just curious as to why some people on here seem to think its a strange punishment tool to use /play with? maybe to stop anyone looking at their other half in the buff ? on a swinger site? daft its all very open access isnt it !

The end of the day the only response I/you can give to the 'threat' of being blocked by someone you don't know, haven't met and of course never will meet is ' whoopdedoo!' which is a lot more polite than 'I don't give a shit' *skips off laughing aloud flicking the Vs at the lot of 'em !

Like I say I get the value/usefulness of it even if it is a bit impersonal or rude to some people .You don't know you get blocked till you have been and when you are there is bugger all you can do abou it ! So its not really anything someone should be threatening you with maybe?

It just amuses me that there are people here who seem to view it as a sort of 'sanction' which it isn't of course .Maybe they were bullied at school? . Perhaps too many domina/nt /bull / macho types on here ? getting all 'powerful' on us all in the virtual world ?

So , final thoughts ? block me by all means people if I dont meet with your high/low/medium expectations or we dont click for whatever reason or you feel my 'jib' is not cut to your particular taste but there is no need to get all sanctamonious 'spanish inquisition' ( which of course no one ever expects! ) about it in your profiles .The temptation to deliberatly wind someone up with all the ' I'm going to block' on their profile is too much sometimes isn't it ? . I always try not to though of course. I'm good like that .

Right my train has arrived so I can stop ranting .. stay nice and calm everyone it is a bad enough world out there as it is surely !

Last thought .. Would a simple ' no thanks/block ' button on the reply to messages work a lot better and be quicker? maybe allow for more informative less negative profile?

Does it really matter if people are nice? negative? instead of just naughty? ?

I agree OP. I think they just attract the types they're trying to avoid. They will get people messing with them for fun.

Also nice that they rant as it makes them easy to avoid.
