Not like that you filthy animals!

We’re looking for a robot vacuum, anybody have any suggestions or experience with them? Have heard mixed reviews even about the most expensive ones so not sure which to go for.

Depending on your place, etc. I love mine but I have a cat and a dog with hardwood floors and laminate throughout with throw carpets. It's been 3 years though and it still works perfect. You just have to remember that it will go charge itself so you have to keep the station unobstructed ir itll beep incessantly.

Thankyou, we we’re looking at a roomba but then somebody said they had problems with them breaking down. Should probably just stick with that. Have hardwood and tile floors so hopefully should be fine with those if yours is coping.

I shed hair like Chewbacca losing his winter fur and none of the ones I've tried have been able to cope with it.

The hair tends to get wrapped round the brushes and I spend more time untangling it than it would take me to hoover my flat.

So far it hasn't mattered whether I've bought a bargain basement type or a top of the range.

Shame, cos I'm a lazy cow and would love one thing less to do. This seemed ideal.

You know I'm going to say this - with any electronics it depends on where you buy them from. As well, if you keep the filters clean and you know if it's really muddy or you dropped a whole planter of soil on your floor (like me) then yeah you have to clean that up.

I bought mine from Costco and have never had an issue.

Planter of soil, blimey! At least it wasn't on carpet I guess?

Mine didn't get too much of a workout to be honest, but because my place is mostly carpeted I didn't get the best from it and in fairness I do shed an awful lot of hair.

Thanks for the help guys, we don’t think there’s a lot of hair shedding going on here so hopefully should be ok, we’ll no doubt find out though!

Will try and keep the soil in the planters if possible, that sounds like a nightmare.

Oh the soil thing is just one of many of my klutzy lifestyle.

Carpeting and robot vacs just dont mix. I get the hair - Maine coin cat, little hairy fluffball of a dog and then my hair which is anywhere from 2 to 4 feet in length depending on the season - I get you.

When I had carpets I used scotch guard and it at least clumped up the hair very well so I could puck it up instead of fighting to detangle it all the time.
