I think it's a bit of a strange one when people try to ring fence the sites use.

Yes the name is fab swingers but as plenty of couples have tried to assert for several years; singles 'can't be swingers' the result is this.

Personally I consider myself a swinger but lots of my friends don't, it's about sexual exploration as much as swinging now.

I used to be here as part of a couple, so was a "proper" swinger.

Now i'm single, so in some peoples opinion i'm no longer a swinger - I care not about anyone's thoughts or labels. I first came here as a single for the safety aspect of the verification system (contentious subject I know, but I maintain that if other people have survived to write a veri then I'm less likely to be murdered!). I’m not ashamed to say what attracted me. I was told about the site by someone on here. I was curious so I came on to take a look and then stayed but I’m not a swinger. I've had a quick think about why I personally use this site over others and this is what I've come up with

I don't see myself as part of any particular scene (swinging/kink/BDSM etc). I'm just open-minded and want a wide range of experiences, so I like that there are all sorts of people on here. I find a lot of men surprisingly prudish, clingy and/or judgemental and it's easier to find those more on my wavelength on here.

I don't want a monogamous relationship right now, but that's not to say I never will. I don't define myself as a swinger or non-swinger, I'm open to a relationship with either dynamic in future.

I like seeing and sharing naked pictures and speaking frankly about what I and they are looking for without the pretence of dating.

The forum is a big plus over other sites where there is no way to speak to other users except 1-2-1. It's enlightening and helpful hearing a wider range of experiences/views than my own social group. And it's also just fun as a time killer.

I'm not embarrassed about meeting people for casual sex and am pretty open with friends about that, as they do it too but through other sites and they're less upfront with the guys. However, I don't really ever mention the site name as I personally find it quite cringey. I think swinging is quite a dated term and things have evolved socially so that lots of variations of relationships/sexual arrangements are a bit more mainstream now.

So basically I like the site features (old school as the format is!), I like the experiences I get from it, I like killing time on it in between and I don't really want to commit to saying I am any particular thing as my mood and circumstances change. But I do hate the name as I don't think it represents the site as it is now.

I think I am one. Though a lot seem to be under the impression I'm not, given I've no full time partner and prefer one to one meets.

To me, swinging is more a lifestyle, more being part of a social community of likeminded people, more mindset than swapping my other half for someone elses and indulging in some 'reclaim' sex after.

I'm more your swinging 60's hippy, free love kind of guy though.

I think unless the site owners and moderation teams give Fab more of an official voice of it's own. Through advice, sticky notes in Forums etc. Then it's not down to any of us to determine who is and who is not a swinger, what is and what isn't swinging, who should and shouldn't be on here.

As far as I can tell it's a multipurpose site helping similarly minded people connect with one another.

I found it through internet searches for uk based swinging sites. I'd already found out about swinging as a younger man in Germany, used International sites in Spain. So it wasn't a hard find. Just shocked I've the ability to use all MAIN features for free.

To be honest, I don't remember how I found it. I can say it's the only site that has primarily, real people, and isn't designed to rinse overly horny men of oodles of cash. Who knows, I may end up being a real swinger. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy the moment.
