I always prick, as can't believe how much fat comes out of them during cooking and I don't want to eat all the fat.

Plus it's strangely satisfying spearing meat shaped like a cock.

I par boil mine then fry ..that way they get fully cooked..saves splitting or pricking or if using the oven I bake them...never prick or slice

On the rare ocassions i eat sausages i prick them to let the fat out.

Although some sauages have added crap in them to congeal (if thats the right word) the crap and fat already in them so that it dosent run out. They call them fat free.

I think it means the fat dosent run free and not to be confused with been free of fat.

Par boiled sausages, well I never. I've heard it all now. I only every par boil my spuds ad parsnips. Does it not alter the taste?

Random Sausage Factoid: Did you happen to know that sausages can be traced back some 4000 years? Texts from the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia mention a description of them.

(They never mentioned whether they pricked them or not however unfortunately)
