Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

before switching on the heating?

I don't put the heating on until November, and only then if the temperature has dropped to 10 degrees or lower.

I'm being seriously tested this evening - I may need to wear gloves to keep typing.

Live in Scotland Play in England

We are in Scotland too but had not yet put our heating on. But since we got back from Barcelona just over a week ago we've had to put it on every day.

Took us a while to acclimatise to this weather...we had to blast the heating at 23-24deg to get the house to stop feeling like a fridge. Normally 21 is enough!

My heating is off. Saying that, I spend most week nights in a hotel somewhere, but am home at the weekends. This weekend I put on a thermal jumper and was lovely and toasty, and when it gets really chilly I light the fire.

I'm in a hotel in London right now and the heating in the room is off.

Each to their own. It's a light-hearted thread seeing what others do.

I didn't have central heating for about 15 years and I've had it for about 15 years now. It started out not wanting to get too used to expecting it and then it was about reducing my impact on the planet.

My sister and I used to share a flat where there was ice on the inside of the windows. The kitchen extension to the old Victorian house was so ramshackle the floor would get a slick of ice on really cold nights.

As soon as I feel cold I put it on.

There are no rules.

I grew up in a freezing house before central heating.

I remember the metal window frames having gaps and letting freezing air in so the insides of the windows in my bedroom were icy

You could see your breath all over the house other than the front room where we had a gas fire.
