I've just made my daughter sit and watch Neverending Story with me and it instantly took me back to my childhood. Escaping in books and stories.

Do any films or songs instantly transport you back to another time and place? X

OMG! I’ve been trying to make our 6yo daughter watch this with me ever since it came out on Netflix.

Used to absolutely adore this movie. Think I watched it (on VHS) repeatedly when I was a kid.

Can’t get the little one to sit still for long enough to get to the good bits though. We made it to the book shop being chased by bullies before she got bored and put something else on

Also, the Mrs has never seen The Goonies.

Currently on a mission to make her watch that with me - can’t say you’re an 80s kid without having seen The Goonies.

All the above films take me back too. My daughter got bored watching and kept trying to go on her phone. Labrinth is next on my list for her x

Flight of the Navigator! Forgot about that film too!

Damn, at this rate my entire Sunday is going to revolve around me sitting on the sofa watching old kids movies!

Loads of northern soul tracks do that for me, memories of certain all nighters and friends no longer with us as well as good and happy memories

Quite a few none Northern soul tracks take me back to memories of old gf's mainly because they liked them rather than me liking them.

It's always the films that seemed to be on at christmas from my childhood that take me back.....

Bridge over the river kwai.

Clash of the titans and the James Bond movies with Roger Moore in them. Especially Moonraker. Loved that as a kid.

Thanks Op, never seen it but always liked the theme song (a guilty pleasure for a rock fan). Me and my two boys just finished watching it, they're 10 and 6, let's say they enjoyed it as in the background both of them are talking about the bullying boys
