At the very most basic level, maybe. I can St least see where the connection between the two is.

Cheating is about DECEPTION. That's the major difference.

Swingers or just poly and open relationships the whole thing is consensual (at least that is how it should be).

That's just the way it goes. There are degrees of acceptance when it comes to having sex with people you aren't in a commited relationship with. Some find it acceptable to do it without telling their partner other don't

No it is not cheating.

Mrs H has full consent to fuck whoever she wants when we visit a club or (on the very rare occasion) when we do a private meet.

If she went out one day to visit an old friend (or whatever) then fucked someone without telling me, then that would be cheating. Or vice versa.

The reason many (not all) couples don't like cheaters is simple.

A scorned wife who finds out what you have been up to can be a big, VERY BIG, problem. Most couples just don't want the hassle.

As a couple that swing together and as a single communication is key.

We make each other aware if we are meeting as a single.

Cheating is not keeping the lines of communication open, being deceitful and sneaking about, having meets without consent!

It doesnt work for all couples, to swing and it work requires an abundance of trust and talking to one another.

As you can see people don't agree that cheating and swinging are the same thing.

I don't agree either, I think though that the word "cheating" has become synonymous with "adultery" and don't have quite the same meaning in my opinion.

Couples who agree to swing usually do it with the full and happily given consent of both, cheating implies that one person doesn't know that the other is having sex elsewhere. It annoys people understandably so, to be told that their actions are the same as people who go behind their partners back.

How I see it for us.

Having sex with someone else that the other fully knows about be it when we're together or alone is ok in our relationship. The other must know and agree to it. We usually play together but not always. Like for example I (K) am very bi and the idea of having a female FB is one I enjoy greatly.

However, if one of us is lying and hiding it and not telling the other then it's not ok!! Why?? Because it's a break of trust!! A swinging relationship requires trust a BDSM relationship requires trust and we have both. If the trust was gone I would be out.

No not cheating,that's lying and hiding meeting other men or women from a partner.

We meet together and separately,always with the others full knowledge and agreement.

They are two totally different things,but i have seen cheats try and put swingers down a few times to try and justify their own behaviour.

As for not meeting cheats,i wouldn't want it done to me so wouldn't do it to another woman.

I agree. I think trust is almost more important in swinging relationships than in non swinging ones. To be able to swing there needs to be lots of trust.
