What wise words stick in your mind whilst navigating your way through life?

My two:

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Never go to sleep on an argument.

You can only piss with the dick you've got.

No plan survives first contact.

These have been hard lessons to learn for someone who likes things a very specific way as I've envisaged them. But that is the reality, the world as is nature and science is chaotic, not orde_ed like we'd sometimes like it to be. Life is a learning curve.

That sleeping on an argument one you mentioned - I always used to need to sort things right here and now, but more recently in life I've worked out that it's occasionally better to take your time and work out what the argument was about, calm down, look at the cause and resolve it rather than plaster over cracks....

I think the older I get the less wise words I have, and also the less rules I stick to, but I'd consider that wisdom in a funny sort of way....
