Just wondering about media exposure really and if you just notice what you want to notice. Both cricket and rugby are relatively minor sports in the UK with little spectator interest except at international level. Both have had (or are having) world cups in 2019.

The cricket world cup in the summer, in the UK, was quite well covered in the media with the final featuring England live on free to air TV. As a cricket lover perhaps I just was more aware.

Despite going to a rugby playing school that didn't play football I loathe that game and see absolutely nothing in it for the spectator. I know there is a world cup on but without seeing posts by old schoolfriends on Facebook I would have no idea of what was happening, I've seen nothing on TV even advertising games. I wonder if non cricket lovers had the same experience of the CWC.

Has anyone with no interest in either noticed that world cups have been happening?
