Can’t sleep?

Been struggling to sleep for a few weeks now, how do people send themselves to sleep? I’ve tried the whole no electronics and hour before bed, reading, relaxing music. Nothing works, and I’m reluctant to take any pills for it.

Same. Past week wide awake once in bed and can’t sleep. Even counting sheep fails me....

Somewhere In The Ether…

Gentle stretching exercises prior to bed often help.

Failing that, a wank

Ok. When I'm staying in a strange place on my own I struggle to sleep. I put the radio on a talk station and turn the volume really low, just audible and find that helps

Normally if it's come about suddenly then there's an underlying issue. It could even be the expectation of not expecting a good sleep in itself is leading restless nights.

A subtle change in environment maybe?

There's some great pointers already mentioned that helps get a decent night's kip, but if not happens to be psychological then it may take a bit of soul searching. If there's nothing there then be stubborn & tell yourself tonight you're gonna sleep like a baby, minus wetting the bed & call that.

I find that ,if I’m struggling to drop off to sleep, the best thing to do is put a very quiet audio book on. Barely loud enough to hear, just background noise.

Then I find my comfy position and begin imagining my body sinking in to a fluffy cloud, perfectly supported but so softly I can barely feel it.

I start with my toes, allowing them to completely relax then move slowly up my body, focusing on a small part at a time until I’m a super relaxed marshmallow and I drift off.
