I thought it was excellent, nowhere near as violent as suggested. Very dark, Phoenix was sublime. something of a social commentary on how society is atm and how mental health is viewed, stigmatised and misunderstood. Worth watching.

I have seen it and I enjoyed it. Anyone on this thread thinking about going to see it I recommend you prepare yourself for a dark thriller and don’t expect anything ‘comic book’ bat man like.

I did like the twist at the end where the joker's actions lead to little Bruce's parents being shot.

So in short the joker is the one that made Batman.

I really did, I felt he had been let down by everyone around him and overlooked by the system.

Then again I have always been fascinated by the Joker.

I wonder if they will delve further back now after disclosing childhood details

I doubt it, the director said its a stand alone film but with the money its made, I bet the studio will try and convince him to make another.

It should be left there though I think since the Joker doesn't actually have a true origin story

I have, I caught the IMAX version and was amazed by it: Really well-made, it looked and sounded superb. I liked the fact it treated the audience as adults and there was no hint of a lycra-clad superhero to be seen, no 'comic relief' dialogue/scenes, no SJW agendas: all in all a very Un-Hollywood type of production. Just when I thought there wasn't much more that could be said about The Joker as a character, this comes along and re-imagines the whole history very convincingly.

Yes seen it.

Thoughts was a try hard attempt for an Oscar however very much true to how the joker could have his origins which was interesting.

Overall thought wouldn't watch again and if I don't research a movie it's a sign it failed for me.

A movie has to capture my emotions to want me to revisit it or a scene. There isn't really and wasn't anything that I would want to rewatch in a honesty.

What about you OP?

My inital feeling was i liked it, now i feel it engaged me and was good but a little gothic panto, i think it was his acting i loved, i find totally mesmerising x

It was a film that resonated with me for a good while after I left the cinema.

Few films managed that or are as thought provoking.

Enjoy would be the wrong word but it's a compelling watch and worthy of note.

JP is fantastic. It was almost like he became an anti-hero, then you realised how sick he was.

This is my thoughts on it. As a movie on its own it is amazing.

As a Joker movie, within a batman universe, I was not fully sold. I didn't get the correct vibe at all. I've always liked the version of the joker that never really had a back story. The character of the Joker is much larger than life, I didn't get that from the movie, it was a little too grounded in reality for the true personality of the Joker to shine.

The makers have said that the entire movie from start to finish (especially the end) is left open for interpretation on how things happened and went down.

I went to see this last night, I absolutely loved it. I really felt for him, god, I was willing him not to go on that bloody show even though I know he turns out to be the Joker!!!

I hope it wins some kind of award, it was amazing.
