I often forget that that people still live like this. A simple life and at the end of the day, are we any better?

I don't think so.

The Town by The Cross

Some good remarks made.......

On the metal detector finding a tin can = "We can see that ourselves"...

On dog shit .... = " We never pick up dog shit. "

On using a mop = "What are you cleaning ?

There is no dirt.

On telling others about the washing machine.... = " They wash clean clothes. The do it just to play with the water.

There were so many other true things said that demonstrate just how ridiculous and wasteful our society is and how work is made for the sake of work.

Just watched it...been slagged off for racial stereotyping etc but I found it absolutely fascinating the way different societies view different things...housework as in needless cleaning and washing of clothes... nudity and body shapes...and then polygamy both multiple marriage and partners ouside of marriage.

Got to be honest I think the African Himba tribe show up the western way of life as wasteful and hypocritical in comparison to theirs. They dont have the western conveniences less in material things and have a much harder physical life but are far richer in the things that truly matter such as community and a healthier mental attitude to relationships bodies and life in general.

I watched it. I cringed at some of it but the discourse about body image and nudity was fascinating. A life without mirrors could make us all happier.
