No key car

My friend has a nice newish peugeot, one the ones that you don't have to use the key to unlock it or start the engine. On our way home yesterday from a weekend away, he decided to stop off at a castle that I saw from the distance so he could rest from driving and for me to look around. I then wandered off leaving him to have a nap in the car in the car park, heard a click but thought nothing of it. Had a nice wander round the outside then inside including taking pictures for at least half an hour. As I came back to the car, there was another click, he said "I couldn't have come to find you because you had the keys in your handbag" as the clicks were the locking and unlocking of the car d'oh

Because he wanted a nap/rest from driving and I didn't realise that I had the car keys in my handbag. I am guessing that if he could press the button to get out, he then wouldn't be able to lock the car?

They wouldn't as the car assumes all passengers have got out so unless he tried to get out, it wouldn't go off

Our car has the same, If you get out and the keys are not in the ignition the doors lock automatically after a couple of minutes.Actually they'll lock if you're still sitting in it with no keys in the ignition

He doesn't need to put the key in, the doors automatically unlock when you are near it and lock when you get out, the ignition is a press button so no key needed

yes,the point i was making was if you had the key he could have got out,waited 2 minutes and the car would have locked. he wouldn't need the fob
