"So why didn't he just press the button on the inside to unlock it? " Because he wanted a nap/rest from driving and I didn't realise that I had the car keys in my handbag. I am guessing that if he could press the button to get out, he then wouldn't be able to lock the car?

"So why didn't he just press the button on the inside to unlock it? I think what is more worrying is...... why didn't the alarm go off when the locking doors activated it " They wouldn't as the car assumes all passengers have got out so unless he tried to get out, it wouldn't go off

Our car has the same, If you get out and the keys are not in the ignition the doors lock automatically after a couple of minutes.Actually they'll lock if you're still sitting in it with no keys in the ignition
