Oh that might not be for us then it would trigger Mr Ns asthma. I use a sauna regularly but realise it isn't the same thing.

I always make a point of going to one every time I visit Turkey. You honestly feel so invigorated afterwards. Little bit of advice if you do go to one in Turkey, try and go near the beginning of your holiday as being scrubbed with the lofa sponge could take your nice tan away

Reading the descriptions, a lot of it I think I could mock up with a sauna, shower, and exfoliating mitt. I don't think it's for me but it must be doing something right.

I use a sauna regularly but I don't go straight to a cold shower, I cool down naturally before that. It's just I have an opportunity coming up to go to a Turkish bath and I'm not sure. However nothing ventured

Oh sure! I've had a couple of not-like-that facials and while I've concluded that I can get much better results at home spending a lot less money (and the experience itself isn't worth the money), it was something to try, particularly when my skin was more troublesome.

I loved my turkish bath.

They had bubbles in a pillow case type thing and whipped it all over my body, they scrubbed me down and rinsed me off then I had a full body massage.

Definitely go again

Went to one in Turkey(didn't want to but it's a long story) !!

Fantastic building with amazing architecture which was a plus point.

Just remember no pain no gain !!

And despite you showering twice a day at home etc etc and being a clean person you'll be amazed at the "dirt" the process removes from deep within your skin pores.

"Has anyone been to one? What's it like and do you recommend it?"

Thoroughly recommended, and great places to relax and unwind for a few hours.

Similarly, if you ever find yourself in Los Angeles, I would recommend a visit to a Korean spa for a exfoliating scrub after immersion in hot water, steam rooms and saunas.

For an unforgettable those-are-really-Russian-gangsters experience try the Wi Spa on Wilshire Boulevard and, in the evening, follow-up with an authentic Thai massage with a tiny 60 year old lady (with a density exceeding that of osmium) walking up and down your spine in East Hollywood.

I have a pretty high pain threshold (skiing on with a broken leg, that sort of thing) but that tiny old lady very nearly had me asking her to stop.

I think she may have been to the same massage school as an old guy in Hong Kong who works in the Four season's spa.
