So a very nice guy has offered to lend me £200 so I can buy new clothes heels makeup undies etc we have chatted for a while and he made the offer we haven’t met yet but he said it’s his money and wants to help me I’ve told him I will think about it and if I take the money I will pay him back it’s only a loan my question to you is it it wrong to take it or just accept the offer??

I wouldn’t, because money doesn’t generally make a good thing to base a friendship on.

You don’t really need those things I guess?

No don’t take it, if he wants to help you let him take you out shopping and buy bits at a time, plus also you’ll get to know him which makes it more comfortable to pay him back

"Neither a borrower nor a lender be "

Absolutely right

I’d happily accept meals and drinks from someone if we were out socially - but never ever cash, especially from someone I had never met.

When I meet a man who likes to give gifts of something (perfume, flowers, lingerie etc) I accept them on subsequent meets, but not on a first meet. I would never accept cash

I think I’d be asking myself why someone I had never met would offer me cash. Maybe it’s an attempt to get your bank details? There’s many dishonest scammers on here

I wouldn't take any money if I can help it. It's your decision of course but you even posing the dilemma here suggests it may not sit well with you. I would politely decline in this situation.

Save up for what you want and buy things bit by bit.

I wouldn't even talk to anyone who offered me money or to a person who would consider taking money from me.... Money has nothing to do with friendship or relationships, definitely not in the early stages.... I'd question how money or loans has even entered the conversation, it sounds a bit wrong..... either he's expecting to gain favour or you're giving off the wrong impression OP. There are definitely women here who would offer unofficial services for such loans, I've come across them myself on my fab adventure (discovered not ejaculated...).

Save up, buy your own knickers from somewhere less expensive and improve your self worth.....

There and to the left a bit

I'm with everyone else on here OP in that I'd be suspicious of his motives for the offer especially given you've never met and therefore probably don't know each other that well.

Any meet I have here, costs are split equally which leaves no room for obligation or expectation to be set.

Well if you can't afford things its better to save up than borrow.

If you can't save then its unlikely you can repay a loan.

All loans come with strings no matter what.

Is it really a loan? Does the lender think it is or is it more payment for pleasure in their mind?

I'm afraid I'm with almost everyone else here op. Kindness and generosity are wonderful things with people you know, love and trust but money from a stranger rarely comes without an expectation of something. Don't put yourself in debt to someone you don't know. Money has a terrible habit of causing more problems than it solves. I wish you well in whatever you decide.
