So the last few days there have been some crazy posts on here and it sparks the attention of certain individuals in professional positions.

Those professionals then post a lengthy answer on what could happen in reality.

My question is would you take professional advice from a profile on fab?

"Professional in what sense?"

Someone who claims to be a member of the emergency services, Doctor or Solicitor.

Claims is the key word you only have to look at some of the fantasist posts from some to realise that it would be a foolish thing to do to take advice on serious issues on here at face value.

Hit the nail on the head. The thread has since been removed by admin but a certain individual was making bold claims against another.

This. They may very well be honest and their advice solid and spot on, but where is the proof. It could just as easily be bullshit.

I'd look at the advice, take it on board, remember what was said and then go find a real professional. No way would I act upon it in this sea of catfish, no matter how genuine it appears.

I didn’t involve myself in the post but said individual was throwing around some serious information regardless if it was cut and paste from google or they actually in that chosen profession.

Like you say some loopy individuals out there

hiding behind a keyboard.

Yeah.

I occasionally wade into those ones, but my advice is always follow medical advice, be careful, speak to a professional etc.

It's all good and well asking for advice and some of what I've seen hasn't been too bad, can put you on the right track so to speak.

Always take it with a pinch of salt though and seek advice away from fab

Absolutely,

Sometimes you have to trust professionals and apparently the stockbroker in Nigeria who invests for me is saying that my portfolio has multiplied in value by at least 137% this month alone so I'll keep the direct debit going.

Yes. But the idea that someone who's had issues is permanently broken is incredibly offensive.

On a mooch

It’s ok to reach out and ask opinions but you should always seek professional help in the real world, especially anything medical

The thread on medicine the other day is a prime example. Everyone will react differently to medicines, so always best to speak to your doctor / pharmacy

My definition of professional advice is that it's been paid for from someone who has proven their credentials and will legally standby it. ie. the very opposite of what we read on fab.

So, "good luck" to anyone who follows any advice they get from fab forums, -you're going to need it.

Yes, why not. Does being on a sex site make them any less capable at their chosen profession. I have given and would give advice in my field of knowledge which happens to be one of the emergency services. If I don’t know the answer I won’t offer advice.

,

I think also it's never wise to take important advice from a stranger on the internet. I'm absolutely sure that you are a member of the emergency services but I could say I was a lawyer and late at night a desperate person might believe me.
