Hidden profile messages

What's the point of them ? Just received a message from someone and when I looked them up, their profiles hidden. Now, I realise we all like to be a bit mysterious but that's taking things a bit far haha x

Iv never unstood why people send messages for the first time, wanting to meet but have a hidden profile. If I hide my profile it's because I'm not meeting and don't want messages.

I get there are plenty of reasons to hide your profile but if you are actively looking to meet, I don't get it.

It's like the profiles who rant and whinge and shout and demand you send a face pic in your first message or you'll be blocked.

But when you look at their profile there's no pictures and their biog says they'll never send face pics under any circumstances due to privacy/job/collectors etc. So don't ask.

I sometimes just forget when I'm hidden. I've been guilty of messaging while I have been. But I usually attach pics, and am generally always commenting on something specific in their profile or status so usually get a reply anyway. But it's easier for women to get away with, guys are just making it even harder for themselves if they do it. Unfair as it is, it tends to make me think they're attached.

Got a message from a couple.. their profile was hidden... told them... no profile ... no thanks.. they apologised ... made it fully visible ....

Although i am sure folk have their reasons.. I'm not entirely sure what they could be.

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions. I assumed they forgot to unhide when they messaged. When I pointed out i'd like to see a glumpse of who I was replying to, they provided me with some pics then briefly unhid their profile. Honest mistake on both counts.
