... let go when you get upset and angry almost to the point of crying? How do you calm yourself?

Walk away. Find somewhere I can cry it out.

Liverpool

Sob in the shower and then show myself some love. Fresh pyjamas, a blanket and a comforting film. Happy Feet often works for me. Who couldn't love singing, dancing penguins!?

You walk away put them to the back of your mind and do something constructive. Defrosting the freezer works.

Eat ice cream, drink wine and let myself feel sorry for myself.

I’m hopeless because I’ve currently gone back to literally pulling my hair out when I get like that

Somewhere

I rarely get that upset however, if I do, I walk away before I say something I can't take back.

Generally I don't.

I stew on things for days, lose sleep and play it over in my mind over and over again.

Then I usually think, "fuck it. Life's too short, they are all assholes". And I just let go.

Or I get d*unk and listen to all my favourite records.

Same as Rubi really. I take myself away from the situation if I can and find somewhere quiet and have a good cry to release my frustration.

I feel like hitting someone... repeatedly (not that I'm going to do it mind)... Need to overcome it somehow and soon

Manchester (she/her)

I swallow it, try not to cause a scene, and promise myself I'll deal with it later, then do.

Deep breathing, focusing on calm things, if necessary reminding myself why causing a scene is a bad idea.

This! Bash a pillow, scream at it, sob until I start laughing. I find the release of embarrassment through uncontrollable giggling usually signals that I’ve cleared all the repressed anger and sadness.

North East Scotland, mostly

I need a good cry at that point to release it. Preferably not publicly although it has been known

I just let it go. Crying can be cleansing.

Movement is good for me though. Dance, walk, anything. Just kicking in some endorphins. Or writing thoughts down...

Thats nice. I usually slap some face mask on rub some oil in my hair or skin. Nice smell and caring self touch are helping. And a duvet cocoon. Anything to shake that feeling off..

Hull

I try to take my mind away to something else so recently I’ve been planning a trip to Disney World in my head. Where I’d stay, which members of my family would go, how we’d all get there. Who would share rooms with who and which parks we’d go to first. This is usually with an unlimited budget due to a lottery win so there’s no stressing about the cost of anything to spoil the good vibes.

This sort of thinking makes me calm down until I feel I can get control of my emotions back. I try not to let go and cry and vent my anger in case I can’t stop. I do worry about that a bit sometimes.

Drive my car, park up somewhere, scream and ugly cry until it's out of my system. Go home, shower, put on my favourite PJs and eat
