I just saw a status that mentioned the said person, taking their own life but decided on a better option.

My initial gut instinct was to message her and try to reassure,as well as offer myself to a chat, with absolutely no ulterior motives whatsoever.

Reason I didn't? See if you can guess

May as well. The reason I didn't, was because my second thought, after my initial, maybe a chat with a stranger will help, was 1 She will think I'm only saying that because I want a shag. And 2 I'm only saying that because I want a shag.

Truth is, that didn't even enter my head. Just think it's a shame that I felt reluctant to message because of just that.

Seems a shame that you can't be genuine on here without suspicion of ulterior motives.

That's a good point. It's amazing the lengths people go to get get attention (not that it's for me to judge, as a teen i tried to self harm to seek attention)

My point is, not really to do with what she put. In all honesty, I saw "instead of ending my life" and I didn't read on, I just felt the urge to message. My point is, it's a shame that (probably just me lol) I felt I couldn't message because it would be assumed I was after sex. Thats the way fab Can make you feel (white knight and all that jazz).

Maybe I'm alone in this.

All of the messages I send are non sexual. Some are read, some aren't, it is the way of fab.

I probably would take the chance that I might be misconstrued if I knew my heart was in the right place...

Here's the thing though, OP. You can't go through life not doing what feels like the right thing because of what other people may incorrectly think about your motives. You know what your motives are. If other people don't, that's on them.

Here's the thing though, OP. You can't go through life not doing what feels like the right thing because of what other people may incorrectly think about your motives. You know what your motives are. If other people don't, that's on them.

Saz here. I messaged someone before who for one reason or another, I felt the message was needed. I did hesitate but knew it could really help and, me and him ended up having a lovely conversation. I think it's always worth it. Don't worry if you're taken up as only wanting a shag, you know why you felt compelled to message in the first place. X
