I know you guys get it hard on here. Ye go through a lot of effort (well some do) to message women. You may well have looked at her profile and made an effort to chat about something on it.

Here's the problem for me though. I don't know about others but at 10.15 tonight I delighted all my messages and by 10.25 I had 22 messages. If I were to reply to all of them no thanks well let's just say it would take a while. Now factor in if half of them replied to ask why or other questions that just leads to frustration on my part. Never mind the fact that it usually means abuse as well So for the most part me I just delete.

Do any ladies find the same?

I used to get it on fabguys. Used to get it on here when I was listed as straight (from men and tv/ts) profiles.

I may not be a lady, but I get it.

I don't get it. If you don't want the input change your filters, un tick all your interests and go fishing yourself. If you don't do that then you can hardly complain. I get barely any messages and I ignore what I get mostly. It works well for me. And I've only got 64 unread.

Deletes are harsh, but understandable; a 'no thanks' without an explanation is just as harsh, and as you've stated it isn't feasible to give reasons why.

I'm sure I get nowhere near as many responses as the genuine ladies on here but, if someone has read my profile properly, even if I'm not interested I'll respond, but it's easy for me to give a polite, but standard, response. Those are the rules of fab, and why I don't have a male profile here. There's lots of easier sites to get dates as a male. This place is tough for single guys!

I always reply to every message and if its a no thanks I just block. I'm not here to waste anyones time.

The site provides tools to alleviate this .. filters gender blocks etc.

If this is happening a lot and you choose not to use them ..thats your choice, if it was causing me grief I know what I'd do.

Einstein said to do the same things over and over again and expect a different result was insanity

If it’s becoming tedious, you could try switching up your filters to give you some peace!

I have a few filters on and still get a lot of messages, but I understand that comes with the territory on here so I delete what doesn’t interest me and reply to what does.

I also regularly hide my profile when my inbox has a lot in it, it doesn’t stop all messages especially if I’m posting on the forum, but it cuts them down a lot!

This is slightly depressing reading, as a single male

If, as is so often offered as advice, I read a profile first, and send a polite message that references their likes, dislikes etc, it's just going to get deleted as it's one of hundreds in that person's inbox then it's a massive demotivator.

It hardly seems worth the effort of doing the research and "trying to stand out"

To be honest, I consider myself lucky if I get even a one-word reply to any messages I send

If you don’t want to make the “effort” you can’t mean that you haven’t got any replies really.

If someone’s not interested, they’re not interested regardless of what you type.

I find it amusing. Twice on our profile in CAPITALS we say we are not meeting. I also typed it very slowly for the hard of thinking.

So when we get messages asking for a meet, we think a) can't read or b) disrespectful or c) both. We don't want to meet an illiterate tosser so it's self selecting for when we do start meeting again.

I hear where you girls are coming from but if you put up on your profile what it is your looking for and the guy reads and feel he ticks the boxes, but in reality he's just not for you, then why not just say that instead of just delete and unread and if hes a dick that takes no for an answer then block his ass, is it not as simple as that?

Me too, I have strong filters.

I completed my profile with what I’m looking for

If I get a message I’ll check the sender profile before opening it, if they’re not what I’m looking for I block them

The preview on messages helps too as the short ones like ‘fuck???’ or ‘can I ask you a question’ (boring zzzz NO!) or offensive ones will be blocked even if on the face of it (but for the stupid : offensive message) they would appear to be compatible.

This really helps keeping the inbox light so I can focus on the men who interest me and that I am enjoying good conversations with

I have filters on and hide my profile when not actually on here and when I don't have the time or the inclination ... works fine (have 10 messages unread atm), also means can rely to virtually all my messages meaning I don't feel rude (ignorant ones I just delete though these are few) and tbh in all the years I've been on here get rude messages maybe once or twice a year! Hence a very short block list!

Because often there is the follow up messages. "why not" "but I'm what you are looking for" ect. And very occasionally there is the abuse. So it's just easier to delete.
