So, I'm travelling Europe in January because why the hell not!

I will primarily be using rail and will set off from London.

Any route/location ideas that have really left an impression are welcome. A mix of the typical tourist areas and more off the beaten track are welcome.

My basic route will be as follows: London, paris, Bern/Milan, Munich, Budapest, Prague,Berlin, Amsterdam.

It seems a little too common and quite frankly doesn't suit my personality of trying something new and experiencing something different so any input will be appreciated.

I may message for more information but also feel free to message me if you want.

Also, if anyone will be in Europe around that time, feel free to let me know.

Bruges is wonderful , loads to see and not too expensive. Take a canal trip and don't forget Belgian beer, Belgian chocolate and Belgian waffles. Yummy.

Try and fit in Bratislava. Historic, picturesque, fabulous restaurant in a tower on the bridge overlooking the river and castle just breathtaking.

I'm going to be solo travelling. When I visited Belgium last year, it felt boring when alone. I would love to visit as a couple or group but not this time.

I enjoy the outdoors so a outdoors location would be fun. Kayaking, canoeing, boating would be great too!

Dalmatian coast... But it's a bloody long train ride.

Definitely check out Italy they have a great train network. Its very easy to get around

I have done insburuk to Budapest by train, Vienna to Venice via llubjana by train. Frankfurt to Berlin via cologne. Just done Prague to Vienna this afternoon. Have done Marseille to tolouse to Bordeaux to Lille to Paris to Lyon to st ettiene to Lyon to London by train!!!!

Yes but the old town is tiny. A day at the very most would be plenty of time. Could do it after a short train journey from Budapest.

So I have an interail pass for anyone wondering.

I'm hearing alot about Italy and I think I may try and go to lake Bled.

What is the better city, Munich or Berlin. I'm not a party head but wouldn't mind a party or two.

Research the clubs you want to go. The door policies can be very strict but once you are in.

Strap in because most don't stop until 5-7am.

From what I read Berlin probably best for sex options, Bavaria has much stricter laws. However if you want a different experience to the UK norm, Munich wins every time for me.

Better beer, food, and ambience. Also the amazing glockenspiel.

So I'm hearing italy alot. Venice would be pretty easy to get too from Switzerlandand I plan on passing through there anyway.

I once took the train from Zagreb to Budapest (and back 4 days later), 6 hours, 350 km, beautiful scenery, especially the lake that you go past which is about 80km long.

I doubt if they have the same train carriages now, this was 18 years ago, but the one I had was like the carriages in the Harry Potter train, corridor down one side, and individual compartments with a sliding door, and bench seating either side facing each other.

Buses and trains

They go all over Europe and are very cheap n comfortable way to travel

I will probably leave on the 31st of December. Be in Paris for new years and stay for a few days then start to head east towards Switzerland, Slovenia and then to Austria or the Czech republic, Berlin and then Amsterdam.
