Really worrying seeing what is going on in Hong Kong!

Is there anyone on fab currently there or been recently? How is the general feeling / day to day life been during the current ongoing a?

HK is one of my favourite cities, would be a shame to see it change in anyway at all.

I don't know but there is little international appetite from challenging China or it an rocking the trade boat. Plus now main land China is more of a financial power house CCP is less worried about losing Hong Kong's financial power and more worried about solidifying their rule. I think China is testing the waters but as long as it see no real hassle from the international community it will slowly increase its use of force and emergency laws to bring about its will on Hong Kong's people. Also what is worrying is the CCP's armed forces (which belong to the communist party, not the state) seem to show an increasingly desire to prove the worth of all the resent defence spending. I'm not convinced looking at the lack of international will this will have a good outcome.

I was in the middle of it 3-4 weeks ago. Barriers in the road on fire, masks protestors smashing up vehicles. Missiles being thrown etc.

It’s was quite scary at times
