"In a statement theres a suggestion from the chief medical officdr(dame sally davies) that snackss should be banned on public transport to help with the countries obesity crisis. Last time I travelled on public transport I didn't see that many folk snacking ... Do you think it'll help or big bro' sticking its nose in. " Every time I get on a bus theres someone crunching and slobbering their way through a bag crisps. Had a row with a woman who sat down next to me and stared crunching an apple. Dont think It'll do any thing for obesity but may do for common decency.

"She has got people talking about obesity and health. Which probably was the objective. " This they often make 'suggestions' which immediately gets the Daily Mail readers hot under the collar. Almost impossible to Police, but at least we are talking about obesity again

"I think that the "authorities" are floundering around trying to find a solution to obesity and coming up with adverts that nobody takes much notice of and unworkable restrictions. " I agree. I don't think they can win. If they suggest healthy eating they are accused of fat shaming.

Until we can all have an honest conversation about obesity and its causes without people getting upset it's going to continue to be a problem.
