My friend got murdered on Sunday. Been told tragic news this morning.

How do you deal with such news?

My mum passed away 2 years ago. Grandma last year. Close friend this year.

It's becoming a pattern..

Sorry. I just needed to vent it somewhere

Thank you guys. I read it at work this morning. Thankfully I was so busy that I didn't have time to think about it and it took my mind off it for a few hours.

But I just cannot believe how someone can take other's life away just like that...

.

Vent away, don't apologise.

There's no set way for dealing sadly, it'd be fantastic if there was. You'll find a way of coping, even when it feels like you're not, you are.

Death does feel like a bloody awful pattern, doesn't it? At times it almost feels like a farce now for me.

Talk to those who care about you and look after you. People will be there for you.

Sending love, x

That's so terrible and sad. It's understandable how you feel as often it seems like bad things happen in such a close succession that it drags you down.

My only (probably poor) advice is to focus on the positives in your life and of the happy memories and time spent with your loved ones to remember how fortunate you are to have been in each other's lives.

We were really close few years ago. Lost touch for a bit but such is life - people move away, delete social media etc.

I was her maid of honour 7 years ago.

We discussed possible flat sharing in the future since she became single agay.

Now she's gone. So full of life and ideas to change hers for better.

So sad and angry at the same time - hope Justice will be done.

It never goes, just gets more manageable. Sending hugs - Mrs

Jessica, nothing prepares for this.

You have to go through this step by step.

Talking it through, till it doesn't hurt definitely works. Writing your thoughts down on paper speeds things up by focusing your anguish, out of your head, through the pen and on to the paper.

A clear head is a happier head...

Grief is like toothache, we will all get it at some point and can only get better with the right help.

All the best in the days and weeks to come.

Message me if you want to chat.

So sorry for all you’ve suffered.

I’m still trying to deal with stuff myself, so am not sure I have the answers, but I can recommend chatting to someone you trust, who won’t judge, possibly someone impartial, just to talk.

Trust me, this last year I’ve lost so many people I love, so I know how life can just seem to kick you when you’re down, but I also know that there are many amazing people around to help you. The strongest one being yourself. We never know what we can cope with, until we’re truly tested. There are no magic answers, we just carry on. It’s all we can do. We owe it to them, and ourselves to live.

I do know that we all have a strength within us that we didn’t know possible, you will have that too. Vent, cry, get angry, laugh/smile at the good memories, take time out, do whatever you need, it’s all a natural part of the process, and no one way is right or wrong when it comes to grief.

Sending you healing hugs x

Viv xx

Be kind to yourself. Your friend was lucky to have had you in her life, and you to have had her in yours. I hope the murderer is caught and realises what they have done. Grief tends to come in waves - you have good days, bad days, days you just get through. Then just when you think you are back to normal, something will knock you off your feet again. This is normal … horrible, but normal. Don't be afraid to ask for help, its a hard road xx hugs xx

This is a lot for you to deal with, especially the trauma of murder. Sorry you are going through this. I lost 3 close family members in a short space of time and had family politics erupt on top. I can at least sympathise and understand the loss of your family but cannot claim to know the pain of the murder on top you are dealing with. I hope some professional bereavement counselling may help you. Hugs x

Grief is the most debilitating emotion, and it moves through you in stages. We have become deeply acquainted with it. We both processed what happened to us in different ways and at different speeds. The only real thing we learned is that you can’t fight it, and no matter how hard you try to resist it, it will engulf you eventually. Don’t fight it. Know, truly know, that your shock, your tears, your anger, your confusion, everything you feel, it’s okay. It’s okay now, next week, next month, next year. No words that other people say can really help, but people close to you are a source of support. Talk to them, express yourself. Express yourself here. Write to us privately if you’re moved to do so. But talk. Talking won’t change what happened, but not talking does make it harder. We will listen. Many people here will listen. With all our love, A&G xx
