I wonder what advice the Government spokesperson would give me on if i should bother planting my tomato seeds this year ?..should i be saving my bath water now ?or should i just buy them from countries with a much hotter climate than ours who grow them all year round ?...

its rather amusing that succesive governments have knocked back the idea of a national water grid, but we are now going to spent £40billion connecting london and birmingham with high speed rail. obviously a far higher priority than getting the population water from where there is an excess like up here.

you can get a rainwater capture system installed in your home, and use the water for things like flushing toilets, watering the garden etc.

Lol, Yeah , makes you wonder dont it , but you see these fcuking wankers in charge have never had to cope with a shortage of anything ever , and wont have to ,can you imagine a photographer catching one of them filling there car up with fuel ,it would fetch thousands ,lol,but the impending water crisis is not even getting a mention other than hose pipe bans and water meters , not heard any contingency plans mention from the idiots about Water , the Fuel of LIFE !!..they are out of touch , and they will leave it to late , UNLESS WE KEEP REMINDING THEM...

well the millionaires cabinet, generally bathe in only the finest mineral water, and couldn't possibly do without anything but the best mountain spring stuff for their malt whiskies. I imagine they all have their own private rivers running through their estates anyway. God knows what they'd be like with actual water restrictions. Mind you my brother lives down south now and they pay ridiculous rates for their water, and its all the more galling given how much is lost through leakage. Thank god scottish water isn't at the same degree of shiteness.

LOL, might be a new angle on you lot going Independant ,(i aint stirring anything up here about that mate )You could make a fortune exporting your water down to us , lol, it's going rto snow next week they reckon , but we still wont capture any ...ha i just hope my local gets it's guinness delivery or them ALL HELL WILL BRAKE LOOSE FROM ME ...

haha, its something thats needed though, Englands population has increased by 10 million in the last few decades, yet they haven't fixed the leaks or made new resevoirs. Electricity is another thing, plenty of it up here, althouth there be shitloads more if salmond doesn;t calm down his scenerey killing wind farms. Although we should keep the water for whisky production, Laphroaig had a shortage of water a few years back when the islands river went low, so there'll be a shortage of the stuff........in 10 years time.

Hmm, thanks for the tip M8 , so if i buy some and keep hold of it now ,it could be worth double in 10 years time ... or even more , i could swap a bottle for a litre of petrol or water .. now that would be a bit of good advice they could give us ,eh ? lol

on the plus side though, they will be able to move tanks of water up and down the country at 180 m.p.h ... that should give the water a spin, never mind the politics

We will be back to steam trains very soon , now that they aint going to build the new nuclear power stations , and the fuel runs out ...and lots of horse drawn canal barge 's,lol (if it rains )

The problem is localized - there is a surfeit of reservoirs here in the north, such that some might even be converted to renewable energy storage since they're no longer needed for water supply.

One of the problems of the English media is that they think that the view from their London windows is all of England.
