If you prefer to be called males that's fine by me

Completely agree! The word is primarily an adjective anyway so it often doesn’t make sense!

It's habit with me and I mean nothing by it..it comes from my personality management..I have several but you d have to know me to recognise em I'm not like jekyll and Hyde. .anyways I have a strong female side..it has no female name so female is used in my vocabulary a lot..so on my part I apologise if that word slips out and offends...as a rule I use the word lady

You have a point. Female may be objective, collective and dehumanizing but girl just derogatory to a grown woman.

I don’t think it is to be honest. Doesn’t bother me. Derogatory? Is this a common opinion. Be interested to know.

Using female as a noun for women I feel it turns women from sentient beings to no more that objects or something else It’s just my feelings on the subject. What makes it really odd is that I can’t explain it properly it just makes me cross. Is that weird?

Probably not although I don’t quite understand why. Was just interested in your view. Does using male instead of man turn men into objects?

I’ve never given that side much thought tbh. But I’ve seen the bit about it’s just a sex which when I give it a bit thought is better but still uncomfortable for me and god knows why

We are animals though, and I am a female human being.

I think it's perfectly acceptable, and I definitely don't think it's a demeaning or objectifying term.

It depends in what context words are used.

It's probably easier on here to use male and female if looking for mmf ffm etc.

I refer to my mates as lads.

There are lots of ladies that will have 'a night out with the girls'

Why don't just ask the ladies what they'd prefer. Lets be honest something will cause offence to someone. Used the word ladies, sure someone will take offence to that
