When I get a 'nice tits' message or 'wanna fuck?' Or 'wanna suck my dick' message I delete. When there is no avatar and no pic attached... I delete. A message with words and sentences, punctuation, i always read and reply.

If they haven't taken the time to read my profile (and I can tell), I don't take the time to read their message (which is generally copy and paste or a one liner anyway).

I don't have the time or energy to read them all. But I do delete them, so they know I'm not interested.

And if I catch them messages me more than once without reading my profile, or they bitch about being deleted, they get blocked.

I read them when I feel like it. I delete them when I feel like it. I reply when I feel like it. There are no rules to follow with regards to dealing with messages and no amount of pressure from guys who don't like the way I manage my inbox will make me change my ways.

It saves time if a guy reads a profile before sending a message first. I get countless from attached or bi guys ir those who lives miles away. Reading my profile before sending a message saves everyone time (profiles currently hidden)

From the male perspective if I message a lady, actually anyone for that matter and they don’t reply it’s their choice, it says to me that I am not who they are interested in.

If my message is read and not deleted I don’t spend the next two hours in an agitated state imagining that they are going to get round to messaging me as soon as they have finished putting architrave round the hallway door.

To be fair your thread was in no doubt well intentioned but if you deconstruct it, you are actually asking people to do something that they ordinarily wouldn’t, therefore you are implying that, that behaviour is not congruent with your own values and beliefs.

When we question somebody else’s viewpoint and then actually ask them to change their behaviour, there is obviously going to be a degree of push back.

It's easy to skim the first line of a message without opening, to have an idea of the type of message being recieved. I think a lot also look at the profile, before opening a message, to see if they like the look/sound of a message. If the profile is crap, the majority would likely leave the message unread or just delete. The good ones already stand out. Their profile is what swings it, not their message.

I always read a profile before messaging. It gives me a topic of conversation to talk to them about

The problem on here for a lot of men including me is its all rejection, failure and disappointment. I put a lot of thought into my messages and im never rude but very few ever bother to read them let alone respond. I think in this modern life of equality something on this site needs to change. Maybe after a lady has received 5 messages she then has to message a man. I.e. take the initiative.
