It's giving me a headache!

Its not something I'm very experienced in.. I'm stuck using free software.

It's just.. I cant seem to find free software that'll let me do anything bar add title credits.. or the shittiest of all effects.

It's just me talking to a camera though, maybe that's all I need?

Any experienced video editors that are happy to navigate me through the murky waters?

Up North

Have you not tried iMovie? A female engineer of mine made a cracking presentation for me using this software. I’ve always wanted to have a dabble myself but never found the time.

If you do find a good one I’d like to be kept in the loop

Keep it simple, use tricks like a zoom cut to mask jumpy cuts, cut aways would be good to mask cuts too.

Filmora and Splice. I'll look those up, thankyou Fab. I always get quick answers on here, usually good ones as well, regardless of what it is I'm asking.

I love Fab

I'm sure that'll come with experience Rubideux. For now, I'm just looking for something that'll let me overlap a few effects onto it, slow it down into slow mo a bit and maybe but some sort of mood filter over the top, nothing too fancy and nothing too much.

Just a few fun things, to break up my monologue.

a fade over is better than a zoom cut

fade one out while unfade another in

using titles on a still picture before fading into a presentation edit
