In the middle

Keep the C word firmly in December, there are so many more things to celebrate in my family before that, and even then it had lost all its magic for me

Christmas used to be my favourite time of the year and I would want it to last as long as possible. But that was when my son was young and I still had my parents. Now I'm very meh about it

Given that when someone started a Christmas thread 5 weeks ago I got accused of being a killjoy (amongst other things) for suggesting it was a little early in the interest of pokiteness I'm delighted that people who want Christmas to last a quarter of the year are indulged in this festival of consumerism are being indulged by our supermarkets in this way!

I used to love Christmas, but I enjoy it less each year. The bombardment from now until the actual day has a lot to do with it.

I am pretty organised and already have bought quite a few presents.

I don’t like that I dislike it, but it’s the happy clappy “it should be Xmas all year brigade” that just make me want to ram a pine tree down their throats.

Some people have to budget for months they can't take the xmas hit all in one go so have to spread the cost and buy things piece meal. Its interesting though are just looking inward to how it irritates them rather than the bigger picture it says a lot about them.

That's something along the lines of what I was going to say. Also if everything went on sale in December, the shops would be overcrowded, long queues, not able to restock or get deliveries quick enough.

It's sad that people are so grumpy they will leave their trolleys and store.

Far too early for Christmas stuff yet. Weeks ago I saw mince pies on the shelves with an October expiry I know some will want to budget & buy over a longer period but I tend to buy bits that aren't necessarily christmas related and the recipient will make use of throughout the year. I refuse to buy the shite that sells at a premium because it's got a Christmas tree or holly on it
