If you like it then no it's not weird. I put baked beans in my stews then add mash to the plate so basically the same thing.

For my corned beef hash I crush cornflakes mixed with cheese and add it as a topping. Grill for two mins. Delicious.

Always been like this since I was a kid.... meat and veg, then a layer of baked beans and the mash on top. Mam used to add cheese on top of the mash (only half the dish) as that was a step too far for me

Chop them up really small, they will never know, a lot gets hidden that my lad and I don’t like.... yes I said what I don’t like, but if it’s not recognisable and I know good for us hide away even as the chef
