It’s an ear worm. Although, it be best just to hum the tune to yourself if it pops into your head next time you’re in Asda rather than sing the lyric - you might get some strange looks.

I listened and gave it a try but it wasn't for me.

However, it was good to try something different as I only tend to listen to one genre normally

My Alexa is upstairs... I want to play but must decide if I should shout to test the distance power or go get it. I tend to stick with the same stuff that’s been in my iPod for years and never get talking new music with people as people who know music really know their stuff and I don’t want to be a fool. Taste is eclectic here, but lots of Stevie wonder, punk, new wave, ska and random stuff. Music people what would I like? - Mrs

Any proper music fan would never treat you for a fool, they'd just share the love.

But if Curveball is up for it we'll keep this thread ticking over with interesting stuff.

I'll add a track from a few years back that a lot of people will love.

Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

It's cutesy and feel good.

I love that you love northern soul

If you're an aficionado and only want a certain track on the correct label etc you can pay through the roof for it these days.

But you can still build up a good collection for a reasonable amount if you don't mind re issues etc.

Some snobs about who insist on everything being right but others say it's the sound that matters more.

nah it always felt overplayed. It’s ok, and I can’t resist singing along but I wouldn’t seek it out.

I love the specials, madness, and anything like it. I like reggae a lot and new wave.

I genuinely struggle to figure out who fits in one category as sometimes things are reggae or new wave but i felt like they were ska. Or the crossover definitions of punk ska and punk.

Yeah I hear all of that. Inc that track being overplayed.

We'd need a whole separate thread for reggae. Esp if we start with mento, blue beat through ska, rocksteady, lovers rock, dub poetry, dance Hall...
