Just had this not sure if genuine.. but who knows!

Notice on car (not a joke)

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area.

As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the

rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home,

it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to

stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the

car. Then we received this email yesterday:

'WARNING FROM POLICE

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--NEW WAY TO

DO CAR JACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

. You walk across the car parking , unlock your car and get inside. You

start the engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your

parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle

of the rear window. So, you shift into neutral, unlock your

doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or

whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach

the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out

of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically

mow you down as they speed off in your car..

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.

So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your

money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are

now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just

drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you

read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and

family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of

personal information and identification documents, and you

certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

I always lock myself in when i get in my car - much to the disturbance of my occaisional passengers!! hee hee

But many years ago a friend of mine was driving fairly late at night and the pedestrian lights went red so she stopped. This is when then all of a sudden a group of youths appeared and tried to drag her out of the car. They managed to get her doors open but she did manage to drive away unscathed - apart from the shock of course.

Gotta keep your self awareness at all times ;o)

That’s because people send these chain mail type emails around giving chavs a good idea on how to do it.

It was a woman on her own and her handbag and everything was in the car. She was really traumatized by it. Others may not have heard of it happening but i definetly have

Anything at all like this, sex scams, postal scams, phone scams, etc that you are warned of, check a website called Snopes (hopefully I can say that if I don't put the whole address here.)

We have even had some through from the local crimestoppers e-mail ring that turned out to be false.... sick people out there enjoying watching their chain-letter hoaxes do the rounds...

This would be a new thing to us up here in the wilderness,..we leave our keys in the car over night, we rarely lock our front door when we go out,.. if we did how would John from next door get in to watch our Sky t.v., he even has the kettle on for when we get back home

We even know of one public phone that is in someones front room

This scam would never work on me.

Not because I'm ever dilligent and wouldn't fall for such a trick, no. It would never work on me because I'm a fundamental lazy bastard and I'd just put the rear windscreen wiper on to get rid of the piece of paper.

If this ever came to more than a scam I am hazarding a guess that the insurance would not be paying out.

Leaving keys in an unlocked car they would just laugh at you.

Only if you were daft enough to tell them the truth. Knowing how the thieving pikey bastard insurance companies work means that careful consideration needs to be given when making a claim to avoid shooting ones self in the foot.......
