Our eldest daughter is named after Tom's much younger cousin in Australia, a lovely name that you never heard of in the UK derived from the aboriginal for 'Always Returns', who we spent a lovely summer with once, and she hates it, how were we to know Miss Minogue would happen along

Our second has a gealic name, which goes with our Irish surname and all the oldest does is moan why she didn't have a gealic name too

Can't win

K&T xx xx

My eldest isnt really named after but is named an old native american tribe

Middle one just seemed a good idea at the time lol

my youngest died on delivery and it took two attempts to get her back so not knowing if she would pull thro or not, and not wanting to give her the old typical names that people do on these occasions we named her the Russian word for hope.....again seemed a good idea ta the time lmao

We gave both of our kids names that they could happily go to school with and not have the piss ripped out of them simply because we thought we were being "fashionable"

Rushden

We named our kids after they were born!!!

Oh, I see! Well, like two2bonk, we chose names that they can live with all of their lives and not just when they are cute little ones... Just imagine going for an interview at the age of 40 and having to put "Trixibell" on the form!!!

Oh those Chav parents have a lot to answer for, trying to copy the so called stars

I like others gave my kids normal names cos when I was a kid Shona was not very popular and I couldnt get anything like my friends had.

You know the little bedroom door plaques saying ***'s room or anything like that and ohh I really wanted them mainly cos I could have them!!!

My kids have what was very popular names the years they were born.

Mind you when my mother found out what hubby wanted for the youngest she was really peeved cos she didnt think it was a name for "a white kid" I mean how stupid was that???

And to peeve her off more I said to him if I have a daughter thats what she will be called!!! and in the 2 years my mother spent talking to me after she was born she never called my youngest by her name ohh btw is is Chloe.

Shona
