Carrier bags

Right i understand the charging 5p per carrier bag was to try to stop people using as many because they take years to decompose..right?

So why does my local shop which now has compostable carrier bags which decompose a lot quicker still charge 5p for them? Surely they should be free!

It's cos you didn't bring one

Technically they shouldn't be charging if their logo is on it (it's advertising) nor should you be for biodegradable such as paper but they still do.

They'll probably say that these bags cost more to make and of course we are to t take the hit. I would be happy paying for those bags that degrade faster.

I got charged for a paper bag in Primark Bath, my daughter on a different till was not charged for hers! I don't mind paying but that miffed me a bit. X

And we are allowed to have gripes and moans even if we are the "1st World"

Its something to do with being a certain size for some shops and they have to charge. However it costs to buy them so many others are now doing so as we often expect it.
