Every single decade has its upside and downside.

I agree that once you hit 50 and then 60 you are inclined to reassess your priorities but as my dad who is in his mid nineties says "you gotta live til you die" and he's right. Once you start thinking in terms of too old or too late you're finished.

I'd say you petty much get to do what you want when you want to but I've been doing that for the last twenty or more years anyway.

Downside is your body doesn't repair itself as quickly as it once did. I still crash motorcycles on & off road & it takes considerably longer to fully recover.

OK I m coming up 55..yes I think about death but that's because I personally tried take it twice in previous few years..NOW...FK IT!! We were all born to die one day...I'm dressing different..a lot different..I'm dancing.m singing in all weather's doing what I want, how I want and when I want..I ve always lived a full life but now I know I have life experience to know it's either a slippy slope or living..so get out there..be who you are and live, don t dwell on the shit side because at the end of the day we re all gonna die so live life..love what you do and do what you love...I don't have a bucket list I have a fk it list...nothing matters except living a life to its fullest. .laugh, smile, dance..whatever...just bloody enjoy and pay no heed to others opinions or the mail telling you about funerals, death policy's etc...and this is meant in the best possible way

Upside - I dont look at myself being 50, my head tells me I am a lot younger and I still get active, have a great social life and planning a sky dive next year. I do have less inhibitions and as others have said, sex is great too. It is just a number.

Downside - I am out of more age ranges on here than I ever was

Getting older, being of a certain age means there is less time left. However that might give one the impetus to do things now and not put them off...grab those opportunities and not procrastinate.

We should at this stage have more freedom, kids having left home. Maybe a little more financially stable.

Hopefully by this point we understand ourselves better, accept ourselves, know what is important and not sweat the small stuff.

"There are no plus sides to being old.

I've just got back from yet another funeral, 3 this year, including my brilliant father-in-law.

I now actually feel ill myself.

Life at this age sucks. "

its probably a reaction to three funerals in a year.

Life at this age doesn't suck and hopefully once you feel a bit better you'll realise this.

Take a bit of time and look after yourself

"What's with all this weeping and wailing? Do something about it, leave your comfort zone and surround yourself with young people they will keep you young.

I frequent the trendy bars in Leeds where I imagine the average age is around 25yo. I don't go to pull I go to enjoy myself and I have found nothing but respect from the youngsters.

Don't be afraid of feeling uncomfortable. "

The Judge said I'm not to do that anymore!...

"I keep hearing 'live life to the full', that comes with a curtain amount of expenditure, in other words you need money, and I don't have a lot of it"

Mate I had kids late, youngest is eight so we haven't got a prayer of ever having "real" money even though we became mortgage free this year.

One of the reasons we moved here was it took away the wanderlust, now most of what we want is on our doorstep.

I can echo this.

And I'm not mortgage free. Had my youngest at 48, I'm 20 years out of sync with others my age, so will have to work til I die.

Happy days

Life at this age sucks.

Life at any age can suck, be grateful that you are alive and enjoy it! We're all the age we are and nothing can change it so just relax, be happy and make the most of every day because you never know "

Well said,my partner never got to get old ,embrace the age you are

I feel it’s more of a mindset thing. You get ‘young’ people who are old before their time simply because of their attitude to life and the reverse is the same, stop focusing on the numbers and get on with the living is my attitude. When it comes to age I always tell people I’m old enough to know better but young enough not to care.

Downside: Aches and pains and boobs going south.

Upside: Having the best of times and being happier than have ever been.

For me life really did start in 40s
