Should I be miffed?

Haircut time, has to be done as I don't want people thinking I'm a hippy. Thing is, two of the girls in the barbers charge full price but the other charges me oap rate. I'm 48 ffs and don't know weather to be miffed because she charges me as oap or happy because I'm saving 10 Bob. Should I be miffed?

I’d be miffed but it wouldn’t stop me using her, I’d definitely take the oap discount

Chippenham Malmesbury area

Give her the 50p as a tip; she'll then then think of you as a kind and generous old man.

50p. Thing is I leave the same amount every time anyway,so the extra goes into her tip jar.

It's not the 50p. It's the o.a.p.

Did she offer to trim your eyebrows and ear hair ? That is a sure sign of being an OAP

If you are 48 why do you think in old money (10 bob)? You weren't using money before decimalisation. I think this is proof you are far older than 48 and why she gave you the OAP discount !

Not true. I am 48 but was raised in time bubble that is otherwise known as a small West Yorkshire town. I sometimes greet people with a "Ey-Up" and eat fish on a Friday. I dont own a flat cap or whippet just yet though.

You moisturise and still she thinks you're an OAP; I think you need to change your moisturiser!

Just around the corner

Where’s this barber in Leeds who might offer a 40 something chap an OAP discount? Asking for a friend.

She offered a new waxing service a few visits back, I'm sure it was ears and I think nose. Truth is I panicked, it was an unexpected question in what is normally a place I feel comfortable and safe, I didn't know what to do. I tried to politely decline but the words came out as an inaudible mumble, she asked again and all I could think to say was, "what if the lads in the pub notice? They don't even know I moisturise"

If you use phrases like 'ten bob' you're a pensioner mate.
