I like any oldies. It went pear shaped in the 90's.

My favourite is the rock 'n' roll era.

Mid 50's to the early 60's.

The 90's was magnificent! It had everything, indie, disco, house, garage, trance, hardcore and jungle. It was a great time to be going out on the town on in a sweatbox in vauxhall!

There and to the left a bit

The joy of music is that it is forever evolving and changing - and always has done - on my iPod I have music that was written and conceived centuries ago right up to stuff that was only released this week and can find pleasure in listening to all of it regardless of where it came from.

It's a natural thing that we get nostalgic towards the music we grew up listening go and I gravitate towards the late 70s/early 80s as a result - but there was also some awful dross around at the time too - for every "classic" there's usually two or three dirges regardless of the era.

So for me, no decade or era is better than any other

There's been great music throughout all those decades, you just have to look for it.

Exactly that - the singles charts these days are absolutely no indication of what is good or bad - album charts more so, or listening to things like 6 Music or XFM is where the good stuff is to be found.

Have never understood how people are happy to listen to the same old music over and over without expanding their horizons - some amazing contemporary music being made, just got to look for it.

I'm a 6 Music junkie. Their weekly playlist is always jam-packed with great new stuff

1980s for me too, although I think the 19th century saw the creation of some fantastic music.

Exactly this. There's great music in every decade. Once or twice a year I play songs from each decade from the 50s to the present date. I like the chronology of it and nobody's ever complained. That or they weren't listening
