Flea bites

Ok so I got up this morning and I am covered in flea bites I don’t even have pets! it’s the old cat lady next door, it’s been going on for almost 9 months now and I know it doesn’t seem a big deal but I’m sat crying as I’m typing this, it’s costing me a fortune in sprays and bombs only for 2 weeks later my legs and ankles to be covered in bites again, it’s severely making me depressed as I’m very house/appearance proud, does anyone have any advice on a permanent solution? thank you x

Exactly I don’t know! Can they crawl through walls or attics? Or are they jumping on me when I’m walking to my front door ect?

I feel for you, my sister doesn't de-flea her cats and my mum kept bringing the fleas to my house on her clothing, it drove me insane as I'm allergic to flea bites. After months of boil washing everything, spraying every room and banning my mother from going there until my sister sorted out the issue, I finally got rid of them.

I think you're going to have to speak to the lady who owns the cats and explain the situation, tell her it needs sorting or you'll have to contact the rspca, or the landlord (if the property is rented).

Indorex spray from Amazon if it's fleas. But are you sure it's not bedbugs if you are waking up covered? Flea bites are usually just ankles etc they don't ideally target humans.

You can make a trap down stairs to check for fleas. Bowl of water with lemon dish soap then put a glass ramikin inside it with a t light in. Leave overnight on the floor if you have a flea infestation your bowl will have them in.

Use tea tree shower gel/shampoo/sprays etc as they hate it......

mmmm think i would be ripping every room up as as said de fleaing everything but the root problem needs sorting if you cant aproach the lady then let the rspca do so you should not have to suffer for another person's love of cats hope you get it sorted op as it can be a health risk too

we had the same in my area for a little while someone going round killing cats in very nasty ways.

We had an issue with fleas a couple of yrs ago, it was before I got my dog, and my cat rarely went out.

It was the neighbours cat who kept coming in when the back door was open.

They didn't bite me, but attacked my kids

If you're getting a 2wk cycle, it sounds like you're killing the fleas, but not the eggs or larvae.

I popped into my local pest shop who recommended a product called Indorex which not only kills the fleas, but the eggs/larvea too

It did what it said on the tin

I doubt its flea bites if the cat isn't in your house.

Maybe its bed bugs or something else?

That's awful you cant live like that!

There are ways to clear your home of any insects - get on google and buy some products - also contact your neighbor and show her the bites.

I really feel for you. A long time ago my neighbours cat was infested and I let him in the kitchen for food. I too had a cat and yep, my house became affected. It was a nightmare. The neighbour didn't mention it until I did and then went on to tell me how the fleas were literally dropping off her cat!

I know it’s fleas as iv caught the odd twat walking up my leg at night thinking it’s clever and there super hard to squish! It’s awful and the bites are only on my ankles/lower legs

How can fleas from your neighbor's cat get into your house? I know they can jump along way but I dont think they can go through walls. So unless you're letting in to feed it then it's probably something else... Call in a pest control company and get the problem properly diagnosed and treated by them

Ps if it is the neighbours cat remember its not the innocent animals fault its the irresponsible owners! People on here advocating cruelty are scum! Buy some frontline and treat the cat yourself, you shouldn't have to but its better than what you're going through now.

The most fleas we ever had was when a hedgehog lived under our shed. Nobody believed me until they went down there. They too got covered in bites.

But with the cat next door? You can't justifiably blame them.

Unfortunately you should go through all your things and you might find a nest of some sort,?

Wild Birds also carry fleas.

If the flea bites are only on your legs then I would suggest you are being bitten during the day somewhere. If your bed was full of cat fleas, surely you would be bitten on all parts of your body??

Over the counter treatments are a total waste of time, call a professional to come and treat the whole house, should cost around £100 and that will be it problem over.
