margate sumwear by the sea

Cos of whear I work is near a river it's also mosquito Central.

I got like 5 bits just on 1 leg.

Dus anyone no of anything you can eat to stop them biting.

I've eaten garlic products for 2 weeks and it hasn't stopped them.

And I can't use spray's as I work in a kitchen.

Any ideas or remedies that stop the little buggies biting.

Eat marmite, and definitely use Avon skin so soft, doesn’t stop them entirely but it cuts them down!

I've always used coconut oil as a moisturiser.

I never get bitten by mozzies, on holiday 2yrs ago everyone was covered in bites except me.

I just assumed I tasted sour

But apparently they don't like coconut

I get bitten regularly too not helped by living near a lake.

When I get bitten I use the hot spoon treatment, boil water put it in a cup and using a teaspoon heat the spoon in the water then put the spoon on the bite gently, but don’t burn yourself, just dab the hot spoon on the bite(s).

It stops the bites itching xx

Being fat game for mosquitos myself, in Jamaica last year I stopped counting at 80 bites. I looked I to it and found out that it could of been my vitamin B12 levels were low. Before going to Cuba this year I started B12 tablets and uses repel wipes and only had 15 bites in 2 weeks. You skin so soft works well in this country and Europe too

Old-style Indian Tonic Water used to do the job, but the modern stuff doesn't have enough quinine in it to have any effect on mossies, it's all flavouring. What the OP needs is deet. Good strong deet. I think the strongest you can buy in the UK is Jungle Formula which is 50%. You can get a 100% spray overseas, but it's harsh stuff and should only be sprayed onto clothes. I've found that "Natural" remedies, citronella and such, have very limited success.

The parasites that cause Malaria have been around for a little bit longer than the pharmaceutical industry (thousands of years) the mosquitoes just transmit the parasites

Also humans are interfering with the eco system and taking away all of the things nature has put into place to keep the population under control. The earth is dying because we are all living longer than we should. Only the strong survive in nature and reproduce to strengthen and improve that breed. We are messing with natural evolution and making the human race weaker as a result. How many people had peanut allergies etc 50 years ago ?

Lots of good ideas/suggestions I will try next time I'm heading to the sun, thanks.

On the cure side and seeing as OP works in kitchen,I asked a local in Spain what he used to counteract the bites and he said "aceto" - acetic acid or as we would better know it plain old vinegar.

We've made sure to use it ever since and it helps us a lot, but might not work for everyone.

Avon skin so soft is really good. I travel around the world and it’s worked well. Pity I didn’t have some now as In Antigua and the deet spray we get given at work doesn’t work as well.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but it's cure for the bites you already got.

Get a flannel or cloth, run the hot tap till it's hit but not scalding. Put the flannel/cloth under the tap to heat it up then put it on the bite while it's hot. You should feel a sharp sting. This is the bite being neutralised. Stops the itching

Prevent.

1.avon so soft spray

2. Marmite or bovril drinks

3.brewer yeast for minimum 4 wks n continue while in area (+/-) odourless garlic tablets

4. Citronella on pulse points

5. Lavender

6. Burn lavender or citronella I sense when you can.

7. Keep covered. Socks over trousers etc.. Long sleeves...

Post. Tea tree oil pure on bites. Best antiseptic out there

A lot of products that state they repel have no evidence behind them, which is why Its better to ask others what has worked.

Your clothing can help, as can not having many fragrances that draw them.

TROWBRIDGE

After years in Africa and the Canadian Prairie where the mozzies bite through clothing, I would recommend a repellent which contains deet.

I would spray direct onto skin and then over clothes. Be aware that it isn't waterproof so sweat will wash it off.

I have also used the horses' citronella spray; smelled good too, but like all sprays it stung like a bugger if it got in your eyes.

Dont sleep uncovered. I made the mistake once, and got two bites on my cock whilst asleep. I assume it was during a night time erection.

The bites came up as hard lumps. It looked like i had a condom on with a couple of ball bearings in it.

Turkish barbers near me sell lemon cologne. Ive found that works.
