So no doubt this has been posted before but I can't find it.

Lots of fabbers use kik. I personally find it good for not giving out personal numbers.

It is allegedly shutting down...

What would be the go to choice of messaging if it were to dissappear?

Telegram seems to be the front runner. I'm switching to Wickr Me.

Can't say I've heard of either of them. I'll check them out

I, for one, like Kik.

It's a shame.

Not tried any others though - yet.

I'll see if there's a poll on it.

Would be worth checking out. Can't let the chat die with kik

Personally I won’t be bothering. If I know someone well enough to meet them they can have my number just like normal life. If not they’ll stay on fab.

Fair enough, everyone is different.

Don't agree or disagree was just curious to people's thoughts

I have downloaded Wickr but I don’t really like it. Telegram requires a number so I won’t do that.

I don’t know ...

I think the security features outweigh other issues tbh.

I don’t really know anything about these apps. I need to do some research.

Yes I am the same but sometimes use KiK as a halfway house until we have met and I trust them enough.

OP: latest date seems to be Oct 19. Will be interested to see which app the 300 million users migrate to.

Its all just making me giggle I will be totally honest. I just envisage every attached man on here panicking and downloading everything to use in the hope people they like use it and avoiding giving out their number.

There's the makers of a kik bot that say they're making an app (RageChat) that will mirror kiks features, and plan to release it as a beta before Kik shuts down.
