Does Fab, or similar platforms, improve your self confidence?

Or does it have a negative impact?

Or no impact at all?

I’m a confident person but I would say fab has improved it for me.

I think if you have good self esteem coupled with confidence and know your own worth then something like fab won't affect it either way.

I think though that it can give you more or less confidence in the way you look depending on your experience.

Great to see it’s improved yours!

I had a blip in confidence when I made the move from gym fit to dad bod. But fab quickly gives that!if anything I’ve been more popular rocking the dad bod haha

Mrs Here- I’ve always been comfortable with who I am and confident in that. I’ve always been less confident in my appearance and sexual attractiveness to others but didn’t care as if someone got to know me they’d like me or they wouldn’t. Fab has been good for mine, to find my feet viewing myself in another way as more than just “that weird one” . I am weird but I’ve found a new side of me.

When we’ve been stood up or degraded it can sometimes knock me for a day or two but I do just pick up and remember it’s a reflection of them, not me. I can see why for some it could be really difficult to deal with the rejection. It depends on your core confidence I think.

Any situation that you put yourself in, that can entail any kind rejection or exposes you the views and opinions of others is detrimental to your self confidence. It is how you deal with it which is the real struggle. Its human nature

Definitely helping my self esteem, I'm a very confident person with very low self esteem,so when I receive messages giving me compliments (from couples as the Mr has it set so single men can't message) which isn't something I'm used to in normal day life, I don't usually receive compliments, then it proper puts a smile on my face and makes me feel good

I see you're point. But i wouldn't let that effect my confidence, I'd see that as their loss. I've been on and off dating sites for nearly 3 years and you have to develop a thick skin for that with the amount of ghosting and time wasters that are on there.

I think, sometimes, the forum gives you more confidence. Not the smoke blowing, but hearing lots of difference peoples' experiences, preferences, kinks etc. Things are less daunting when you know everyone's in the same boat really, and you're no less attractive or weirder than most.

Attraction is sometimes apparently inexplicable,that's true. I've been strongly attracted to women of diverse character and appearances and have always been quite at ease with that! I've never quite understood people who say they're only attracted to a very narrow 'type' of person. (They may actually be,I've just never understood it,that's all.)

Our first few meets put me on cloud 9 but it has dropped dramatically recently causing me to pull out of a few meets. I also have a fear of meeting new people so it's a big step being on here at first. Absolutely love it when I get my head in the right place and we do meet. M x

I can sort of echo this insomuch as fab has confirmed that as a TV lots of guys (and a few women) find me attractive, whereas for my male profile it has confirmed pretty much the above; to the extent that I'll probably delete that profile and go back to POF for any male/female dates. It's been a harsh learning curve.

I'm confident but not arrogant, I'm a people person can strike up conversations with anyone fab has had no influence on that, you can feel as though youre not part of anything here and can understand how less confident people might be made to feel here as a result of the silence their efforts receive, especially guys but everyone feels that at some point here, some with body confidence, some with depression, some just with what lifes throwing at them at that moment. Some here are all about sex their whole being is sex but there is more to life, try and enjoy what you do and take an interest in life and people and you will fair better in whatever you do

As many have said, I don’t believe Fab can radically alter your personality but rather enhance traits you already have.

So a confident person becomes more so, an arrogant one more so and a total dipstick more so. This also means it can have a detrimental effect on those already in a negative or delicate state of mind. That’s why I like the threads on talking and sharing experiences and problems...

Exactly. I’ve always struggled to take a compliment even when I might have described myself as confident. My experience in the few months I’ve been on Fab has confused me though.There’s just so many messages throwing away compliments at the same time as requesting to meet and fuck that I find it hard to know....are the nice things said actually genuine or is it’s just because I’m a single woman and anyone would do??

It can be flattering when someone convinced you they mean it but I find it’s making me cynical.

That may say more about me than the men which is why I’ve started dropping into the forums just recently to chat here more as the friendships and support seem really helpful as well as fun

My confidence as a human being hasn’t been affected by Fab at all. I have a healthy level of self-esteem. However my understanding of myself as a sexual being has improved, I’m more confident in what I like and don’t like, but due to lack of practice my confidence in my sexual abilities has not improved much at all. I don’t think it has deteriorated though.
